Since you were scolded enough today, I shall not start. Firstly, I would like to say today's practice was actually pretty good, much better than I expected.
A choral flourish
- dynamics, not clear
- FEELINGS?? EXPRESSIONS? (BE HAPPY)
- cut-offs not clear. Go and listen to the recordings uploaded in the yahoo groups.
- lacks practice. Some of you are not sure of your parts. Memorise(including dynamics and lyrics and all your cut-offs)
- overall, still OK. However, we are aiming for FANTASTIC. This song is most probably going to be sung for the homecoming, so we must DO our best. Trying is not enough.
You raised me up
- tempo for some parts were messed up. Especially the FIRST bar and the LAST bar. Listen to the recording. It is obviously impossible for me to explain here.
- FEELINGS??
- DYNAMICS?? Zero dynamics.
- overall, still ok. We were in tune! :D
So, in conclusion, we are only half ready. Yes, I am talking about all of us, including myself. Yeah, I know that when we(the seniors) sang and 'performed' for you all just now, were not very good examples. So it means that we all need practice, not just you or me, but all of us. So keep on practising and practising and practising. Until we are near perfect, if not perfect. Keep in mind what the teachers said. We have a lot to look foward to, so keep the right attidute and mindset and most importantly, discipline.
For those of you who were called out today(for whatever reason), I hope it is a wake up call to you. I know Mr Tan is not fierce and did not really scold you all(did he?), but I hope that being pulled out is enough to make you know what your mistakes are, and will change for the better.
Please work hard.
P.S Daphne and Grace, you two are leading warm ups next session. Do us proud!(and don't keep saying no, because it is only going to waste our time :p)
love,
april
